Diving Periodicals International
1957-1974: Co-Founder of two diving clubs, a member of three.1967: I was Nationally Certified as an OWSI with the YMCA and PADI, #2083. In addition, I held a Provisional OWSI Certification with the NASDS. For many years, I taught at multiple dive centers, boys clubs, YMCA's, and several other organizations.1967: I started collecting diving periodicals. Over the past thirty-seven years, I have amassed one of the world’s largest collections. Containing more than seventeen thousand periodicals from forty-one countries, the library fills two rooms. It has been publicized in many diving periodicals internationally, and has also been mentioned in various Web Sites1969-1973: I was involved in the YMCA Diving Instructor Certification Institutes as an Instructor Examiner.Technical Diver: Cave and tunnel, open water decompression, deep wreck penetration, chamber dives to depths exceeding two hundred fifty feet requiring extensive decompression, etc.Commercial Diver: I have done underwater repairs and salvage for boat yards, golf courses, insurance companies, a swimming pool manufacturer and others.1992: I started collecting diving equipment catalogs. Already one of the world's larger collections, it contains more than one thousand five hundred manufacturers and distributors catalogs. Several countries are represented.Now retired from diving, I am a member of the HISTORICAL DIVING SOCIETY USA, #342, and a member of the HISTORICAL DIVING SOCIETY RUSSIA. After a fun filled thirty-seven year career, I am honored to be included in WHO’S WHO IN SCUBA DIVING.Robert Finch |
